We are seeking an experienced environmental lawyer to handle both advisory and contentious matters for a client base comprising corporations, industrial groups, and public authorities. The successful candidate will take on a high degree of autonomy in file management and contribute to developing the firm's environmental law offering at a regional level.

This role is ideal for a lawyer with at least five years' PQE in a law firm, preferably within a specialist environmental team, and a strong grasp of the sector's core issues.

Key areas of work:

Industrial environmental law, including ICPE regulations, water law, contaminated sites and soils, and waste management, along with incident handling and engagement with regulatory authorities
Conducting environmental due diligence audits in the context of corporate transactions
Managing environmental litigation
Advising on issues at the intersection of economic and corporate law, including extended producer responsibility (EPR) and ESG compliance, such as CSRD obligations and environmental governance reporting

The ideal candidate will have an excellent team spirit, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact confidently with both internal stakeholders and clients. A good command of English is desirable. The position is based in Lyon and may require some travel. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

Bac+5 degree (Master's level) in environmental law
At least 5 years' experience in a law firm, ideally within a specialised environmental team
Solid command of core environmental law issues, including industrial regulations, audits, and litigation
Strong autonomy in case handling
Excellent interpersonal and team skills
Good level of English
