Solicitor — Local Government (Public & Employers' Liability)

An established UK local government team is seeking a Solicitor to join their public-sector casualty practice. The role is open to candidates based in Birmingham or Leicester and sits within a national defendant-litigation group that handles public liability, employers' liability and related casualty claims.

You will run your own caseload of predominantly fast-track personal injury and employer/public liability matters, liaising with clients, witnesses, courts and opponents, preparing papers and attending hearings. The team also supports development and secondments across wider insurance and casualty specialisms.

• Experience handling or assisting on PL/EL and casualty (personal injury, highways) claims
• Proven ability to manage own caseload, including client contact and court attendance
• Strong drafting, legal research and witness-statement skills
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and proven technical capability
• Good communication, interpersonal, time-management and IT skills
