Join a busy Tax Disputes and Investigations team in London handling contentious tax matters for a broad client base, including high net worth individuals, trustees, family businesses and corporates. The team covers the full range of UK taxes (income tax, CGT, IHT, SDLT, corporation tax and VAT) and frequently deals with cross-border and trust-related disputes.

The role involves advising on disputes and investigations, remedying unsuccessful planning (including rectification and claims for mistake), and handling tax-related professional negligence and commercial disputes with a tax element. You will work closely with the tax disputes group and collaborate with private client, litigation and corporate tax colleagues.

There is scope to contribute to business development and thought leadership through articles, seminars and client events. The team operates with hybrid working flexibility dependent on role requirements.

Qualified solicitor with approximately 1–6 years' PQE in tax, tax disputes or related litigation
Strong technical tax knowledge and demonstrable contentious experience (private client and/or corporate tax preferred)
Experience managing your own files, drafting complex documents and providing clear, commercial client advice
Comfortable with significant client contact and cross-team collaboration on international matters
Willingness to contribute to business development and thought leadership activities
Good IT skills (MS Office, Excel and Word) and adherence to professional/regulatory obligations
