A full-service AmLaw 100 firm is seeking an attorney to join its Transportation Practice in its Atlanta office. The role centers on insurance defense work for the trucking and transportation industry, and the team represents freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long- and short-haul truckers, and waste management groups involved in intra- and interstate transportation.

The practice has substantial litigation and trial experience across issues that recur throughout the industry, including negligent hiring and retention, hours-of-service rules, engine control module data, messaging and positioning data, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction.

Admitted to practice in Georgia
Approximately 2–15 years of insurance defense experience, including matters involving heavy trucking/tractor-trailer and cargo and freight carriers
Comfort drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings
Experience drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions
Strong writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team
