A leading international law firm
Apply in confidence →We are seeking an associate-level specialist to join a market-leading incentives and remuneration team within a highly regarded employment practice. The team advises on the full range of employee incentives and reward matters, working closely with corporate colleagues on transactional work and early-stage business support, and operates as part of the firm's wider tax capability.
The role covers designing, drafting and implementing statutory and bespoke equity incentive and cash-based bonus plans for employees, non-executive directors and consultants. You will support employers in de-risking and optimising remuneration arrangements, aligning award terms with governance requirements, and crafting on-boarding offers and termination packages. The team also advises individual executives on the equity elements of their compensation, occasionally in high-profile contentious matters.
Clients span entertainment, life sciences, technology, fashion, energy, private equity and a growing portfolio of innovation-led and emerging growth companies, including listed, private, family-owned, private equity-backed and employee-owned businesses. The role offers real responsibility from day one, direct client contact, and support for business development and profile-building.
- 2-5 PQE gained at a reputable law firm or tax advisory practice.
- Demonstrable experience of, or material exposure to, employee incentives and share plans.
- Interest in advisory work, including the design and implementation of incentive structures.
- Exposure to corporate transactions (M&A, take-privates, IPOs) advantageous but not essential.
- Some knowledge of employment taxes and tax relating to employee share plans beneficial.
- Excellent drafting, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator able to build relationships at all levels and manage a client-facing workload.
- Collaborative, resilient and proactive, with an interest in supervising and coaching trainees.
