A growing employment team is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its claimant-focused practice, working primarily with employees, trade unions and staff associations. The role is ideally based in the firm's Birmingham office, though applications for other office locations will also be considered.

The work covers contentious employment matters alongside regulatory and pension issues for union and staff-association members, with responsibility for advice and representation in the Employment Tribunal and civil courts. The team handles test cases, group actions and appellate litigation, offering genuine exposure to ground-breaking matters, and combines litigation strength with alternative dispute resolution.

This is a hands-on, client-facing position suited to a confident and enthusiastic lawyer committed to claimant work and to delivering the highest standard of client service.

SRA-qualified with 5–8 years' post-qualification experience
Current experience in a recognised employment team or in-house department, with in-depth employment law knowledge and claimant-side experience
Ability to manage a caseload of employment tribunal claims through to final trial
Commitment to claimant work and outstanding client care
Pragmatic, research-driven approach with strong drafting, written and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable: experience under the Civil Procedure Rules, regulatory and/or pension work, and business development exposure
Comfortable using litigation, case management and marketing platforms
