CFIUS, International Trade & Government Contracts Associate

We are seeking a 2nd to 6th year associate to join the CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice in our Washington, DC office.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
• Experience or strong interest in advising on matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and the Outbound Investment Security Program (OISP).
• Experience or willingness to develop expertise in government contracts, export controls, and internal investigations.
• Experience or interest in supporting transactions, including M&A and structured investments.

Specific experience with the following government entities is particularly valued: the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS); the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC); the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); and the Department of Defense’s Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

• 2–6 years of relevant experience in CFIUS, trade controls, or government contracts.
• Strong academic credentials from a top law school.
• Transactional support experience or a demonstrated interest in M&A and structured investments.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
