CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts Associate — Washington, DC

An associate opportunity is available in the CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice of a leading international law firm's Washington, DC office. The role offers substantial exposure to national-security regulatory work at the intersection of cross-border transactions and government contracting.

The position centers on work before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States and the Outbound Investment Security Program, with related matters spanning government contracts, export controls, and internal investigations. Associates also support transactional workstreams, including M&A and structured investments, on regulatory and national-security dimensions.

This is a collaborative, high-responsibility role suited to candidates eager to deepen a specialized regulatory practice while working closely with deal teams on sensitive, cross-border matters.

• Two to six years of relevant legal experience
• Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
• Experience or demonstrated interest in CFIUS and outbound investment security matters
• Experience or willingness to develop expertise in government contracts, export controls, and internal investigations
• Interest in supporting M&A and structured investments
• Experience with regulatory bodies such as BIS, DDTC, OFAC, or DCSA is a plus
