Associate — Derivatives (Corporate) — New York

A mid-level associate role in a major New York derivatives practice advising on the structuring, documentation and negotiation of a wide range of derivatives, commodities and structured-product transactions. The team advises financial institutions, asset managers, corporate clients and other market participants across execution, risk management and lifecycle matters.

The role covers transactional work and related regulatory matters, including Dodd-Frank, CFTC and SEC considerations, and a mix of products such as interest rate, FX, credit, commodities, futures, and structured/innovative products (including crypto and FinTech-related instruments). Associates will work across disciplines with colleagues advising on regulatory, enforcement and commercial aspects of complex deals.

The group seeks candidates who have a strong transactional derivatives background and who want to expand exposure to regulatory and novel-product work within a large, global platform.

• 3–6 years post-qualification experience in derivatives, commodities or structured products practice.
• Transactional experience documenting and negotiating swaps, futures, options and related agreements; exposure to repo, notes or structured products a plus.
• Familiarity with Dodd‑Frank, CFTC and SEC regulatory frameworks and how they apply to derivatives and trading platforms.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and commercial judgment; ability to collaborate across practice areas and with global teams.
