A business law firm is seeking an associate with 2 to 4 years of experience to join its Real Estate and Construction team in Nantes. This is a newly created position designed to support the continued development of the practice. The successful candidate will work closely with a partner, two associate lawyers, a legal analyst, and an assistant on a diverse range of real estate and construction matters.

The team serves a client base that includes real estate professionals such as property companies and developers, as well as major corporations from the industrial, mutual insurance, and services sectors. This diversity of clients and situations provides a highly formative environment for deepening expertise and gaining a practical understanding of the legal issues faced by economic actors.

The role involves both advisory and contentious work in real estate and construction law. Responsibilities include supporting clients on real estate operations and projects, advising on construction law issues, drafting and analyzing real estate and construction contracts, conducting legal research and analysis on complex matters, managing real estate and construction litigation—particularly disputes related to construction projects—preparing legal opinions, notes, and documents, and contributing to case management and client communications.

Due to the variety of cases, the blend of advisory and contentious work, and the range of client sectors, the position offers the opportunity to develop a solid command of real estate issues. The firm also emphasizes knowledge sharing, training, and teamwork, and the candidate may draw on the firm's multidisciplinary capabilities across different teams. Candidates with strong English skills are appreciated. The position is based in Nantes and offered as a collaboration contract.

  • Qualified lawyer (CAPA)
  • Master 2 in real estate law, construction law, or private law preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a law firm
  • Significant prior experience in real estate and/or construction law
  • Rigorous analytical skills and ability to handle complex legal issues
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn
  • Strong commitment and ability to work in a team
  • English proficiency is appreciated
