Capital Markets Resource Attorney

A leading global law firm is seeking a non-client-facing Capital Markets resource attorney to support one of the premier capital markets practices in the US and internationally. The group is consistently among the top firms representing issuers and investment banks in IPOs, follow-on offerings and other capital markets transactions, and maintains a highly active SPAC and deSPAC practice, with particular strength advising technology and life sciences companies across public and private capital-raising transactions.

This is a strategic knowledge and practice-development role rather than a traditional billable position. The attorney will not work directly for firm clients and will not bill time. Instead, the successful candidate will enhance marketing and business development efforts, strengthen the creation and sharing of substantive know-how, and help practicing attorneys be more informed, efficient and successful.

Responsibilities include monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the practice; developing topics and assisting with client alerts, white papers and external-facing tools; building and maintaining internal practice resources, forms, templates and work-product archives; coordinating speaking engagements, webinars and materials; supporting branding and business development efforts, including RFP responses; and collaborating with professional development, information services and practice innovation teams on training and technology adoption that drive efficiency across the group.

• Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years' experience representing issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions
• Strong understanding of corporate governance and SEC reporting requirements
• Mastery of capital markets substantive practice, with appetite to learn as the practice, regulatory environment and technology evolve
• Familiarity with the industries the group advises, particularly technology and life sciences
• Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills; confident, engaging presenter
• Strong intellectual ability, judgment, and interpersonal and technical skills
• Self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail
• Collaborative team player
