Our national insurance practice is looking for a Senior Solicitor to join our Glasgow team, handling a varied caseload of defended casualty claims.

You will manage your own files across employers’ and public liability, motor, and disease matters, with exposure to higher-value and more complex claims. The role also offers involvement in regulatory investigations, including HSE inquiries and fatal accident proceedings.

Day-to-day responsibilities include running cases from instruction through to resolution, liaising with clients, witnesses, and opposing parties, and supporting the development of more junior fee earners. You will also contribute to business development and client relationship activities.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience defending casualty claims, strong knowledge of Scottish court procedures, and the ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines and financial targets.

Qualified solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE
Proven experience managing a defence caseload in employers’ and public liability
Experience defending motor, fraud, or disease claims is desirable
Strong knowledge of Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedure
Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a flexible approach to travel
