Apply in confidence →Seeking an experienced conflicts attorney to join a national law firm’s conflicts and ethics team. The role will handle conflicts analysis for new matters, lateral hire reviews and merger candidates; draft waivers and engagement/joint representation letters; and advise firm lawyers on complex ethical issues across U.S. jurisdictions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include independent conflicts research and resolution, managing a high-volume workload with minimal supervision, coordinating with colleagues across offices, providing training on conflicts issues, and serving as a strategic advisor on screening and withdrawal matters. The position is U.S.-based and requires U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status for export-control compliance.
- Juris Doctor and active bar membership in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of practice experience, including at least 2 years in a senior conflicts/ethics role or equivalent
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Rules of Professional Conduct and jurisdictional variations
- Experience drafting complex waivers and engagement/joint representation letters
- Strong legal research and writing, high attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision
- Solid database skills and experience with firm lateral hire processes
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident required
