Conflicts Staff Attorney

A leading US law firm is seeking an experienced Conflicts Staff Attorney to join its risk management team. This role can be based in any of several major US offices, with flexibility for full remote work within commuting distance of an office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for screening potential client engagements in accordance with the firm's risk management procedures and policies. Day-to-day work includes analyzing conflicts database searches for new matters, assisting intake attorneys in clearing potential conflicts, identifying conflicts of interest, and drafting waivers where applicable under the Rules of Professional Conduct.

The role also involves training attorneys and staff on conflict screening and new business intake processes, updating department training materials, running special searches, and contributing to special projects related to new business intake best practices and risk management initiatives.

• JD required
• 3+ years of prior experience as an attorney conducting conflict analysis in a large law firm environment is highly desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of conflict of interest rules under the Rules of Professional Conduct required
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to build relationships with attorneys and gain confidence in the conflicts analysis and approval process
• Attention to detail, analysis, and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills, including responding quickly to a variety of inquiries
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
• Experience with Microsoft Office required; experience with Intapp Open or related products preferred
