Firmwide opening for an associate with experience in consumer and commercial financial services regulation. The role is available across the firm's U.S. offices and sits in the Financial Regulatory / Consumer Finance practice.

Work will focus on counseling banks, credit unions, fintechs, non-bank lenders, servicers, consumer reporting agencies, and technology providers on federal and state consumer- and commercial-finance laws and regulatory compliance. Typical matters include licensing and regulatory interpretation, drafting and negotiating lending and servicing documents, and advising on compliance with statutes such as TILA, FCRA, ECOA and RESPA.

The team seeks a collaborative, client-focused attorney who can handle fast-paced regulatory projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients.

3-4 years post-qualification experience in consumer finance or financial services regulatory practice
Experience counseling banks, fintechs, non-bank lenders, servicers or consumer reporting agencies on federal and state consumer-finance law (TILA, FCRA, ECOA, RESPA) and state licensing requirements
Track record drafting and negotiating lending and servicing documents and commercial contracts
Experience with regulatory interpretation and responding to enforcement inquiries is a plus
JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing; ability to obtain timely admission in the hiring state as required
Strong analytical, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
