Seeking a motivated associate to join a large, established data privacy and cybersecurity team in San Francisco. The role focuses on counseling clients on privacy, AI governance and incident response, supporting development and scaling of privacy programs, and advising on regulatory compliance across U.S. state laws, federal standards and global frameworks.

Typical matters include drafting privacy and security policies, performing DPIAs and AI risk assessments, advising on tracking technologies and cookie compliance, negotiating data-sharing and vendor agreements, supporting breach response and regulatory investigations, and conducting privacy due diligence for transactions.

J.D. and admission to the California bar (in good standing)
3+ years post-qualification legal experience with substantive data privacy and cybersecurity matters (law firm experience preferred)
Practical knowledge of U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/B2B variants), federal privacy rules, and international privacy frameworks such as the GDPR
Experience with AI governance, DPIAs, incident response, vendor/data processing agreements, and privacy-related M&A diligence
Strong drafting, communication and project-management skills; ability to supervise junior attorneys
IAPP CIPP (U.S. and/or EU) strongly preferred; AIGP a plus
