The role is open to candidates for the firm’s California offices (San Diego, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) and offers exposure to executive compensation, equity plan drafting and counseling, retirement and welfare plan matters, and benefits issues in corporate transactions.
Successful candidates will work on a mix of advisory and transactional matters, collaborate with deal teams across practices, and support client calls, document drafting, and regulatory compliance work. The team emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and participation in firm and pro bono initiatives.
- JD from an accredited law school; LL.M. in Tax or Employee Benefits certificate preferred
- Admission to practice in the relevant California jurisdiction
- 2+ years’ experience with substantive employee benefits/executive compensation work (AmLaw 100 experience preferred)
- Experience with equity compensation, executive retention arrangements, retirement/welfare plan issues, and benefits aspects of M&A
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams
- Comfortable in a hybrid, fast-paced environment and able to manage competing deadlines
