Seeking an associate to join a national firm's Employment & Labor practice in multiple California offices. The role offers a mix of litigation and counseling work for experienced labor & employment practitioners.

Day-to-day responsibilities include case development, legal research and writing, managing discovery and witness interviews or investigations, and drafting briefs. The role also involves employment counseling work such as advising on policies and practices, compliance with statutes and regulations, and preparing employment and separation agreements.

The team values strong communication and writing skills, initiative, and a collaborative approach that includes training and mentoring junior lawyers.

2–5 years of relevant employment & labor experience
Experience with litigation tasks: discovery, investigations, witness interviews, and brief writing
Employment counseling experience (policies, compliance, separation agreements)
Strong academic record, excellent legal writing and communication skills
Admission to the California bar required
