The role is based in any of our Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Birmingham, or London offices, working as part of our national team under a hybrid working policy. You'll manage a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment work, working alongside partners to drive the practice forward.

Key responsibilities include:

Advising clients on the full range of employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary matters, grievances, whistleblowing, discrimination, and detriment claims
Defending Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements, and merits reports
Assisting team members with their caseloads as appropriate
Drafting articles and legal updates
Supporting business development initiatives, including training and networking
Working in accordance with client and internal SLAs, and contributing to team financial and utilisation targets

You will have previous experience and a genuine, demonstrable interest in employment law, ideally with 3–6 years' PQE as a qualified solicitor (though all experienced quality candidates will be considered). You should have:

Strong technical knowledge
Experience managing your own caseload (preferred but not essential)
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines and targets
Excellent teamwork, communication, time management, and organisational skills
A flexible approach
Strong academics and technical knowledge
