Energy Project Finance & Development Associate

A global law firm has a dynamic full-time opportunity for a junior-level Associate in its Energy Project Finance & Development Practice. The role offers the chance to work with clients across a range of sizes and industries nationwide, with flexibility to be based in multiple office locations as the team works collaboratively across the firm's platform.

The practice focuses on renewable energy and transactional matters, supporting sponsors, investors, and developers on energy project development, project finance, and M&A transactions. The associate will gain hands-on experience with offtake agreements, interconnection agreements, and other project agreements, along with exposure to energy regulation, project real property, and permitting.

Responsibilities include assisting with drafting and reviewing primary and ancillary transaction documents—such as purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements—under the supervision of more senior attorneys. The role also involves due diligence, transaction management, coordination with clients and internal specialist teams, and preparation of client communications and work product.

• 1–2 years of experience in energy, project finance, corporate, or other relevant transactional practice
• Experience supporting energy project development, M&A, or project finance transactions involving sponsors, investors, developers, and/or project finance
• Interest in and preferably some exposure to offtake agreements, interconnection agreements, and other project agreements
• Familiarity with energy regulation, project real property, and permitting is a plus
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to develop transactional skills
• Comfortable taking on increasing responsibility in a fast-paced practice
• Admission to at least one state bar required
