A growing financial services practice is seeking an Associate or Counsel to join the New York team. The role focuses on negotiating and drafting trading agreements and documenting derivatives and repo/prime brokerage relationships for banks, hedge funds and other financial institutions.

Day-to-day work includes negotiating ISDA, GMRA, prime brokerage and securities lending agreements; structuring and documenting swap transactions with a focus on credit and credit-linked swaps; and advising on the application of Dodd-Frank to derivatives.

The group advises on both transactional documentation and regulatory/compliance aspects of derivatives trading. Candidates will work closely with deal teams and clients to manage complex negotiations and ensure commercially sound, compliant outcomes.

5–7 years of substantive derivatives experience (PQE)
Proven experience negotiating and drafting ISDA, GMRA, prime brokerage and securities lending agreements
Experience structuring and documenting swap transactions, particularly credit and credit-linked swaps
Familiarity with the application of Dodd-Frank to derivatives
Background in lending, secured/structured transactions, creditors’ rights or bankruptcy is a plus
