We are seeking a driven and academically excellent junior associate to join our highly regarded non-contentious Financial Services Regulatory (FSR) practice in London. Our team is part of a leading global law firm with an extensive footprint across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, and a strong track record of advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory matters.

In this role, you will work on a broad mix of advisory and transaction-related regulatory work, supporting banks, investment firms, asset managers, market infrastructure providers, fintechs, private equity firms and other financial institutions on a wide range of financial services law and regulation, including major UK/EU regimes (e.g. CRR/CRD, MiFID II, SMCR, MAR, EMIR, and others). You will be involved in high-value projects such as business structuring and authorisation, group rationalisation, governance and senior management responsibility, regulatory change, new product structuring, client documentation, and financial sector M&A.

You will also have the rare opportunity to gain exposure to contentious FSR work alongside our non-contentious team, which is committed to sharing client work and know-how. Our inclusive, collaborative culture supports your growth, with secondment opportunities to clients and regulators.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on a diverse range of non-contentious financial services regulatory matters, both advisory and transactional.
  • Working on complex, cross-border matters across a variety of financial services sectors, including wholesale and retail.
  • Collaborating with contentious FSR colleagues to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
  • Contributing to business development and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the practice.

We are looking for candidates with approximately 1–2 years' post-qualification experience in financial services regulatory work, ideally with exposure to large, complex and multi-jurisdictional matters. We will consider those with less or more experience if they demonstrate the required competencies. You should have a strong academic record (at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent) and fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 1–2 years' PQE in financial services regulatory work (non-contentious preferred).
  • Experience on large, complex and multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Broad exposure across financial services sectors, such as banks, asset managers, fintechs, or market infrastructure (desirable).
  • Strong academic credentials (minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Proven ability to build authentic relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and achieving results.
