Apply in confidence →We are seeking an experienced corporate lawyer to join a Tier 1 rated, upper mid-market corporate practice in London, with a particular focus on financial services M&A. The team handles a substantial volume of cross-border deals across numerous jurisdictions and is a recognised leader in its chosen sectors, advising many leading domestic and international financial institutions on their most significant strategic transactions.
This is a senior-level role with a clear path to progression. You will support partners and lead key workstreams on mandates, taking a central role in transaction delivery and client relationship development while contributing to the continued growth and expansion of the practice.
The wider financial services offering spans a broad range of disciplines, giving you the chance to collaborate with specialists across the UK and internationally. Financial services M&A work includes private and public mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, intra-group restructurings, cross-border transactions and strategic, regulatory-driven projects for banks, building societies, fintechs, asset and wealth managers, exchanges, payments and digital assets providers, private capital firms, lenders, brokers and insurers.
You will be encouraged and expected to participate fully in business development, helping to build and deepen long-term client relationships and strengthen the group's market reputation, all within a supportive and collegiate culture that rewards ambition and collaboration.
- Experienced corporate lawyer with 7+ years' PQE
- Experience of financial services-focused M&A and strategic transactions involving institutional clients is highly desirable
- Strong technical and communication skills, with client-focused and commercial thinking — able to offer solutions rather than just identify problems
- Self-motivated and flexible, willing to own and deliver workstreams within a fast-moving, market-facing transaction environment
- A team player who can collaborate with specialists across practice areas both in the UK and internationally
- Enthusiasm for externally focused business development and building trusted client relationships
- Ambitious and proactive, with an interest in helping grow the practice and taking an active role in firm-wide initiatives
