A Magic Circle firm

Apply in confidence →

Our growing global private equity group sits at the heart of the firm's business strategy, offering associates the chance to work on high-profile, market-leading mandates for a wide range of financial sponsors — including leading international private equity houses, infrastructure and other investment funds, banks and financial institutions — alongside their portfolio companies and management teams.

The team advises across the full spectrum of private equity work: investments by way of private acquisitions, public company takeovers, minority investments and joint ventures; exits by trade sale, IPO or dual track; and ongoing portfolio company work including add-on acquisitions, asset sales, refinancings and restructurings. Deals are frequently complex, high value and business-press headline matters.

Lawyers here operate as strategic and commercial advisers, not just legal technicians. The group draws on an integrated international office network and complementary expertise in acquisition finance, capital markets, funds and regulatory work, with a wide range of industry sectors covered.

As a senior associate you will be an integral member of deal teams, leading key workstreams on large transactions and potentially running smaller matters. You will draft clearly and concisely, apply legal knowledge and commercial judgement, and take on extensive client contact, business development and thought leadership as you grow in the role.

  • Extensive, relevant private equity transactional experience as a senior associate, likely gained at a leading commercial firm or a highly regarded overseas common law practice
  • Outstanding academic record with proven first-rate legal and document drafting skills
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities, with a high level of commercial awareness
  • Demonstrable experience collaborating within multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Appetite for business development, client relationship management and thought leadership
  • Comfort operating to high professional standards in a flexible, client-friendly team environment
