Our Toronto office is seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer with excellent communication skills to join a collegial, team-oriented environment focused exclusively on immigration law. In this role, you will:

Develop an expert-level understanding of your client base and the industries you support.
Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
Work with client global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies.
Draft and prepare legal documents, typically based on established precedents.
Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
Proactively communicate with clients within service level agreements and team protocols.
Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues and support client projects.
Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
Use firm technology accurately and in line with protocols.
Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues.
Ensure self and team follow documented standards to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.

Qualified candidates will have:

Canadian bar membership with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and knowledge of immigration law.
Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients and staff.
Experience managing a broad caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to identify issues, analyze facts, and determine appropriate case strategy.
Proficiency with online research tools and client management systems.
A professional, positive 'can do' attitude and commitment to contributing to firm initiatives.
