A growing defendant insurance practice is seeking an Associate-level lawyer (1–3 years post-admission) to join its Perth office, working on medical treatment and liability claims.

The role involves supporting hospitals, healthcare providers and insurers in defending medical treatment and liability matters, offering exposure to a range of complex and interesting cases. You will develop technical expertise, strategic thinking and client relationship skills within a collaborative team.

The wider national insurance team is a leading defendant practice of over 95 people, and the firm is known for its inclusive culture, flexible hybrid working arrangements, and strong learning and development programs.

1–3 years of post-admission experience, ideally in medical negligence, health law, insurance litigation or personal injury
Experience managing litigation matters and working directly with clients
A genuine interest in a career in defendant insurance and medical treatment law
Clear, concise legal writing and drafting skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-performing team
