Apply in confidence →Growing international trade team at a major US law firm is seeking an associate to join its Washington, D.C. office. The role offers hands-on work across trade and national security matters, supporting both transactional and regulatory matters for corporate clients.
Day-to-day responsibilities include advising on CFIUS and other national security reviews, customs/imports, sanctions and export controls, and trade remedies; preparing filings and submissions to government agencies; and working collaboratively across practice groups on cross-border matters.
The team values precise drafting, strong agency advocacy, and practical compliance counseling. Occasional international travel may be required.
- Prior experience in international trade law; familiarity with CFIUS, customs compliance, sanctions, export controls, or trade remedies strongly preferred
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and legal research skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters, take responsibility for client work, and collaborate across teams
- Strong academic record and clear oral/written communication skills
- Admission to the D.C. Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver
