Apply in confidence →Our Investment Funds Group is seeking an attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join our team in New York, Chicago, or Austin. This is a professional-track (non-partnership) role focused on fund formation matters.
In this role, you will work on a range of fund formation matters, including drafting and negotiating fund organizational documents and investor side letters, and coordinating investor closings. Experience with secondary transactions is a plus.
We are looking for someone with strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, sound business judgment, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients on fund formation matters, including drafting and negotiating fund documents and investor side letters.
- Coordinate investor closings and manage transactional processes.
- Provide timely, accurate, and well-reasoned work product.
- Communicate effectively with partners, lawyers, clients, and third parties.
- Analyze complex legal issues and apply legal principles to specific facts.
- Work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.
- Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- JD and 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for remote work.
