IP Senior Associate — Chemistry, New York

Seeking a senior associate to join a busy intellectual property team in New York focused on chemical technologies. The role involves patent prosecution and related IP work, supporting both prosecution and litigation matters under the supervision of experienced IP counsel.

Typical responsibilities include preparing and prosecuting patent applications, responding to office actions, conducting prior-art and literature searches, assisting with opinions and freedom-to-operate analyses, and working closely with inventors and external counsel. Candidates should expect to collaborate on cross-office matters within a national IP practice.

• Advanced degree in chemistry or a closely related discipline (Ph.D., M.S. or equivalent preferred)
• Experience in patent prosecution and familiarity with patent office practice for chemical/related arts
• Strong drafting, analytical and written-communication skills
• Active admission to a U.S. bar or eligibility to sit for patent prosecution where required; prior IP litigation exposure a plus
