An Am Law 50 firm
Apply in confidence →We are seeking a senior litigation lawyer to join a dedicated AI & Knowledge team within a leading global law firm. This role is embedded in the litigation practice and focuses on making the practice's know-how usable for both lawyers and AI. The position involves close collaboration with litigators to turn final documents into structured matter profiles that identify workflow improvement opportunities and drive adoption of AI-enabled processes.
Key responsibilities include curating and maintaining knowledge management assets such as precedent libraries, playbooks, and practice-specific know-how; capturing lessons from matter teams; overseeing matter profile data for reporting and dashboards; and continuously assessing and addressing gaps in know-how resources. You will also work with lawyers to map workflows, identify pain points, and partner with data science and AI engineering teams to develop and test practical solutions.
Additionally, you will support the adoption of AI tools and workflows by providing content and credibility to change programs, developing training with talent development and AI teams, and serving as a subject matter resource on the ethical and secure use of AI in litigation. This includes building gold-standard test sets, signing off on AI output quality, and maintaining guidance on AI use in court filings, citation verification, judges' standing orders, and client restrictions.
The role requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, active bar admission, and at least 8 years of hands-on litigation experience at a large law firm or comparable practice. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in litigation knowledge management, legal innovation, or practice operations, and experience with implementing litigation technology or AI tools.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing
- 8+ years of hands-on litigation experience at a large law firm or comparable practice, at partner, counsel, or senior-associate level
- Strong understanding of litigation workflows including early case assessment, research, and drafting
- Strong judgment about legal authority, facts, procedural posture, court practice, privilege, and the practical limits of reusing another matter’s work
- Ability to earn the trust of both partners and associates, distill complex litigation work into concise guidance, and lead cross-functional work to completion
- Hands-on use of generative AI in litigation work and a clear view of its limits; able to show workflows or evaluations you have built
