Lateral Associate – Asset Management (New York)

We are seeking mid-level to senior associates to join an established M&A, Private Equity and Investment Funds practice, with a focus on transactions involving asset managers. This role offers the opportunity to advise asset managers, sponsors, GP stakes funds and institutional investors on a broad range of sophisticated corporate matters.

The successful candidate will work on acquisitions and dispositions of asset management businesses, minority and GP stakes investments, seed and revenue-share arrangements, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and other similar transactions, alongside general corporate work. The position involves significant direct client contact and is ideal for entrepreneurial associates who wish to develop client relationships and manage matters with a high degree of independence.

Prior experience with asset manager M&A or GP stakes transactions is helpful but not required. Candidates with a strong M&A and/or private equity background who are interested in retooling toward this space are encouraged to apply.

• Mid-level to senior associate in law school class years 2018–2022.
• Significant experience handling M&A transactions.
• Strong understanding of corporate law and market terms.
• Substantial experience drafting transaction documents and managing deals effectively.
• Driven, business-development-oriented mindset with the ability to take on a high level of responsibility and work autonomously.
• Prior asset manager M&A or GP stakes experience is a plus but not required.
