Seeking a lateral partner to lead and expand an established energy-focused practice in the Kansas City market. The role will handle transactions and regulatory work across energy tax, renewable energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure-related matters, with additional experience in maritime and construction issues viewed favorably.

The partner will advise corporate and project clients on deal structuring, tax planning for energy projects, regulatory compliance and dispute avoidance. This is an opportunity to take a visible leadership role within a well-resourced practice and to grow a portable client base.

  • Proven partner-level experience in energy transactions, energy tax, or related regulatory work.
  • Track record advising on renewable energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, or maritime/construction matters.
  • Demonstrated business development ability; portable practice or book of business strongly preferred.
  • Licensed to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction or ability to obtain admission; strong client-facing and leadership skills.
