Established national law firm is seeking a lateral partner to join and help lead its Government & Public practice in Chicago. The role focuses on advising public-sector clients, navigating regulatory and legislative matters, and leading cross-disciplinary teams on government-facing engagements.

The position offers significant client-facing responsibility and an opportunity to grow or bring a portable practice. You will work with public-sector entities and private clients interacting with government, mentor junior lawyers, and collaborate with colleagues across offices to deliver practical, policy-oriented solutions.

Admission to practice in Illinois (or ability to obtain promptly) and active standing.
Substantial experience advising public-sector clients, government contractors, or handling government regulatory/legislative matters.
Track record of originating and managing client relationships; portable practice or demonstrable business development ability preferred.
Leadership experience mentoring teams and contributing to practice development.
