Lateral Partner — Tax — Washington, D.C.

Established national law firm is seeking a lateral partner to join its Washington, D.C. tax practice. The role will handle high-value tax planning, controversy, and advisory work for corporate and transactional clients across multiple industries.

The team advises on complex federal and international tax matters and collaborates with corporate, finance, and benefits groups on cross-practice matters. The position offers a platform to lead engagements, mentor junior lawyers, and play a visible role in business development.

Candidates with a portable practice or demonstrable client relationships are encouraged to apply; there is support for integrating new partner hires into the firm s client and referral network.

• Proven partner-level tax experience at a major law firm or equivalent in-house role.
• Deep knowledge of federal and international tax law; experience with transactional tax planning and/or tax controversy matters.
• Track record of originating and managing client engagements; business development capability — portable client relationships welcome.
• Strong management and mentoring skills; ability to work collaboratively with corporate and cross-practice teams.
