Senior role within a national Professional Indemnity (PI) team based in Manchester. The post-holder will manage complex, high-value PI claims, advise insurer and insured clients on coverage and defence strategy, and work across a UK and international insurance platform.

Responsibilities include leading sensitive matters from inception to resolution (litigation, mediation and settlement), building and maintaining insurer/broker relationships, and supporting practice growth through pitches, thought leadership and process improvement.

The role also involves supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the strategic development and profile of the national PI practice.

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common-law qualification)
Significant post-qualification experience in professional indemnity / insurance disputes, preferably from a leading insurance, commercial or disputes practice
Strong technical knowledge of PI policy wordings, coverage issues and claims handling
Proven ability to manage complex, high-value matters with commercial judgment
Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team culture
Interest and aptitude for client development and practice growth
