The role sits at the intersection of legal practice, technology, and experimentation, and is designed for a lawyer with a strong restructuring foundation who is deeply engaged with how AI, technology, and new ways of working are reshaping legal practice and will continue to transform legal practice in the years to come.

The ideal candidate brings substantive credibility to earn the trust of practicing lawyers, combined with an innovator's mindset energized by designing, testing, and scaling new tools, workflows, and systems. As part of the Knowledge Management & AI Group, this position collaborates across offices and administrative teams—including Research, Practice Group Management, and Information Technology—to translate emerging technology into practical, high-impact tools for lawyers and clients. The role reports to the Sr. Director & Counsel of Knowledge & AI.

Responsibilities include identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to restructuring legal work; evaluating, prototyping, and implementing AI-assisted tools, document automation solutions, and technology-enabled workflows; participating in technology pilots and assessments; collaborating with attorneys and technologists to design user-centered tools; leading training sessions; and capturing feedback to support continuous improvement. The role also involves developing and maintaining knowledge management resources across a spectrum of restructuring matters, reviewing and updating templates and precedents, and serving as a trusted internal resource for restructuring lawyers.

  • J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials; must be admitted to practice and in good standing in the state where based
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in restructuring legal practice; other relevant backgrounds considered case by case
  • Demonstrated passion for AI and emerging technology, including a strong perspective on how such tools can be applied to restructuring legal practice and workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to apply legal training to new contexts, including workflow design, tool development, or process improvement; personal or professional coding or tech-related building experience is very highly valued
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, technologists, and administrative professionals
  • Strong initiative and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Creative and strategic thinker open to experimentation, iteration, and multiple approaches to complex problems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently
  • Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work, with a focus on client service and business impact
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across practice groups and departments
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion
