An opportunity exists for a technology-focused attorney to join the Tech & Innovation Industry Group at a leading global law firm, sitting at the intersection of legal practice, technology, and experimentation. This role is designed for a lawyer with a strong technology-sector foundation who is deeply engaged with how AI, automation, and new ways of working are reshaping legal practice.

Working within a Knowledge Management & AI Group, the attorney will collaborate across offices and administrative teams—including research, practice group management, and IT—to translate emerging technology into practical, high-impact tools for lawyers and clients. The position may be based in any U.S. office, with New York or Palo Alto preferred, and reports to a senior director and counsel within the knowledge and AI function.

Responsibilities span identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies across technology and product regulatory counseling, government and regulatory investigations, technology and IP litigation, artificial intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity and data matters, technology transactions, and commercial agreements. The role also involves evaluating, prototyping, and implementing AI-assisted tools, document automation, prompt libraries, and technology-enabled workflows, as well as participating in pilots and assessments and leading training sessions for attorneys and staff.

The successful candidate will also help build and maintain scalable precedent and knowledge infrastructure, refine knowledge materials against internal standards and evolving law, and serve as a trusted internal resource providing practical legal judgment.

  • J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials; admitted to practice and in good standing in the state of the based office
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technology-focused practice
  • Demonstrated passion for AI and emerging technology, with a perspective on applying such tools to legal practice and workflows
  • Ability to apply legal training to new contexts, including workflow design, tool development, or process improvement; coding or tech building experience highly valued
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and administrative professionals
  • Strong initiative, critical-thinking, and independent judgment in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work
