An established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with three to five years of experience to join its Washington, D.C. office. The role focuses on general commercial litigation, with the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility across all stages of complex disputes.

The associate will handle risk mitigation and advisory work, draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery, and draft and argue motions. The position also involves taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions, and advising clients on risk management strategies and the resolution of complex commercial disputes.

Trial experience is a plus but not required. The firm maintains a clerical office environment with standard sedentary demands typical of a professional legal role.

Juris Doctorate (JD) required
Three to five years of litigation experience
Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia
License in Maryland and/or Virginia strongly preferred
Experience in all aspects of general commercial litigation
Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery
Experience drafting and arguing motions
Experience taking and defending depositions, including expert depositions
Experience advising clients on risk management strategies and resolving complex commercial disputes
Trial experience a plus
Large law firm experience strongly preferred
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
