Apply in confidence →We are recruiting a Knowledge Lawyer to support our Banking and Finance teams in Singapore and, more broadly, across the Asia region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded knowledge function within a global law firm, contributing to the firm's commitment to knowledge sharing and innovation.
The Role
- Draft materials for external and internal publications, and identify topics of interest for articles on key legal and business developments, with a focus on banking and finance.
- Analyse and disseminate updates on significant legal and regulatory changes to internal and external audiences.
- Provide knowledge support to business development initiatives and client campaigns.
- Advise and assist lawyers on legal issues, including structuring matters and research support.
- Maintain and draft precedents, especially APLMA and security documents, ensuring they reflect current law, regulation, market standards, and best practice.
- Maintain and draft practice notes and client guides on legal developments.
- Plan, organise, and deliver legal and industry-focused training to trainees, fee-earners, and clients.
- Support strategy and business group meetings, and promote knowledge-sharing systems and new technology tools.
- Contribute to the central knowledge strategy and relevant team knowledge plans.
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience in Banking and Finance (open to various sub-specialisms).
- Minimum 5 years UK equivalent PQE.
- Qualification in England & Wales and/or Singapore preferred.
- Experience designing and delivering effective training programmes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities.
- Experience or strong interest in knowledge management and delivery.
- Project management experience and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent drafting, legal research, and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- Strong IT skills and aptitude for learning and promoting new tools.
