Experienced securities lawyer to join an investment management – financial institutions team. This counsel role is open in multiple U.S. offices and will focus on regulatory work for investment advisers and related industry participants.

The successful candidate will advise institutional and manager clients on compliance with the Investment Advisers Act and other federal securities laws, including registration, conflicts and disclosure, compliance policies and procedures, advertising and marketing, and SEC examinations. The role requires producing clear written legal advice, managing matters to completion, and collaborating with partners across the practice.

The position includes hands-on matter management and mentoring junior attorneys; candidates should demonstrate strong drafting, analytical and communication skills and the ability to handle complex regulatory issues.

  • Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience advising on investment adviser regulatory matters.
  • Law firm experience and/or prior SEC or industry experience working with investment managers or financial institutions.
  • Deep knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related federal securities laws and regulations.
  • Experience with adviser registration, conflicts of interest, compliance programs, advertising/marketing reviews, and SEC examinations.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex regulatory issues and produce concise written advice and client-ready materials.
  • Project management skills and experience supervising or training junior lawyers.
  • Excellent academic credentials, organization, drafting and communication skills.
  • Active bar membership in the state of the hiring office.
