An established intellectual property practice is seeking a highly motivated patent professional with a technical background in software, computer science, or a related discipline to support a busy patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation practice.

Working closely with patent attorneys, you will conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, analyze patents and scientific literature to support prosecution, counseling, and litigation, draft patent applications and responses to office actions, and advise lawyers on technical issues in preparation for depositions.

The role calls for broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering, with expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning strongly preferred. Candidates should be eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and otherwise meet the requirements for registration as a patent agent. Law school tuition assistance is available for patent agent candidates.

Substantive industry experience and a degree in software, computer science, or a related field
Broad technical knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering
Expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning strongly preferred
Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English
Eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and meet patent agent registration requirements
