Apply in confidence →An expanding UK pensions team is hiring Associate Director–level lawyers to join national offices with hybrid working and a nominated base location. You will be given early responsibility and client-facing work across both contentious and non-contentious pensions matters.
The role covers the full pensions lifecycle: risk-transfer work (buy-ins/buyouts and alternative funding), insolvency and scheme rescue matters, LGPS work, advice on scheme governance and employer/trustee relationships, corporate transactions affecting pension arrangements, and complex pensions litigation.
The team offers structured career development, regular technical and skills training, clear progression expectations and opportunities to develop business development capabilities while working alongside a mix of senior and junior colleagues.
- Significant hands-on experience in non-contentious pensions work within a reputable pensions or employment team
- Familiarity with risk-transfer work (buy-ins/buyouts), scheme funding arrangements and insolvency-related pensions issues
- Experience advising on LGPS and/or employer/trustee governance and on pensions aspects of corporate transactions preferred
- Strong client relationship skills, good commercial judgment and ability to take early responsibility
