Experienced private equity associate sought for a busy Chicago corporate/M&A team. The role focuses on representing private equity sponsors and strategic buyers and sellers on complex M&A and PE transactions across a range of industries.

You will take substantive responsibility on deals: leading legal diligence, drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and ancillary documents, coordinating closing mechanics, and supporting client calls and negotiations. The team works collaboratively with deal partners and other practice groups on high‑value, fast‑paced matters.

The position offers a hybrid working pattern with regular in‑office presence and opportunities for professional development and pro bono work within a large, international firm platform.

JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Illinois.
Approximately 5–8 years of private equity and M&A transactional experience at a major corporate law firm.
Proven experience running or playing a key role on PE/M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating definitive documentation.
Excellent written and oral communication, legal research, and drafting skills; strong commercial judgment.
Ability to manage multiple matters, work independently and collaboratively on deal teams, and engage directly with clients.
