Leading Japan-based international firm is recruiting qualified lawyers across a range of practice areas for its Tokyo office. The firm is seeking lateral hires to join teams handling corporate, regulatory and dispute work, with opportunities to work on cross-border matters and contribute to internal knowledge programmes.

Typical responsibilities include delivering fee-earning legal work in your practice area and supporting firm-wide knowledge activities such as maintaining internal legal databases, distributing legislative and regulatory updates, and planning and delivering training for lawyers.

Applicants should indicate their preferred practice area(s) and Tokyo as a preferred location (other domestic or regional offices may also be considered).

Qualified lawyer (admitted in Japan or another recognised jurisdiction); open to lateral hires across experience levels.
Demonstrable experience in a relevant practice area (e.g. corporate, finance, regulatory or litigation) and interest in cross-border work.
Strong legal research, drafting and communication skills; experience with knowledge-management or internal training is an advantage.
