Senior Associate role in a top-tier international corporate practice based in Tokyo, focused on public and private M&A, private equity and cross-border transactions into and out of Japan.

The role involves leading and managing complex deals (including buyouts, pre-IPO investments, strategic JVs and auction sale processes), coordinating with teams across jurisdictions and advising clients across sectors such as energy and infrastructure, technology, real estate, industrials and healthcare.

This is a hands-on position requiring high-quality drafting, commercial judgment, client-facing skills and the ability to run multiple workstreams with minimal supervision while contributing to business development.

3–6 PQE (UK notional) with a law qualification from the US, England & Wales, Australia or another common-law jurisdiction
Strong transactional experience in M&A and private equity; exposure to cross-border deals
Proven ability to lead matters, manage multiple work‑streams and work collaboratively with global teams
Excellent legal drafting and attention to detail
Fluent or native Japanese highly preferred
