A global law firm
Apply in confidence →We are seeking talented lawyers with four or more years’ post-qualification experience in restructuring and insolvency law to join our consultant panel for assignments with a leading global law firm and its blue-chip clients. The interim roles we see require lawyers who can hit the ground running on complex mandates from day one—whether cross-border restructurings or focused advisory work, we have opportunities to match your ambitions.
Assignments may include, for example:
- Legal counsel roles within banks’ impaired-asset teams, advising on distressed lending, corporate restructuring, insolvency procedures, and security enforcement.
- Desk lawyer roles within leveraged finance/credit teams of credit hedge funds, focusing on credit documentation, liability management exercises, and structural risk analysis.
- Senior associate roles within a leading restructuring practice, advising on contingency planning, debt restructuring, special situation credit solutions, distressed acquisitions and sales, credit bidding, formal insolvency proceedings, out-of-court refinancings, and distressed debt trading.
We welcome applications from lawyers with at least four years’ PQE in restructuring and insolvency, including at least two years in private practice at a law firm recognised as leading in this field. Ideally, you will also have recent in-house legal experience at a leading financial services institution, either directly or as a secondee. You should have a consultant mindset—highly professional, flexible, and adaptable—with excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will be able to make effective transitions into new environments and deliver an excellent standard of service to each client. A practising certificate (or equivalent) entitling you to practise as a lawyer in the UK is required.
As a consultant on our platform, you will have the full backing of a leading global law firm, including access to training, development, and networking events, as well as the support of an experienced team, partners, and professional support lawyers. You will enjoy the variety and control to steer your career in any direction, with assignments typically lasting six months or more, and the flexibility to balance your personal and professional life. We are an equal opportunities recruiter and do not discriminate on any protected characteristic.
- Minimum 4 years’ PQE in restructuring and insolvency law, including at least 2 years in private practice at a law firm recognised as leading in this field (e.g., Chambers UK Band 1–2 or Legal 500 Tier 1–2).
- Ideally, recent in-house legal experience at a leading financial services institution (directly or as a secondee).
- Consultant mindset: highly professional, flexible, adaptable, and able to take ownership of your career and professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal professionally with stakeholders at all levels and build strong relationships.
- Resilient, autonomous, and highly credible approach with exemplary commercial acumen and client service ethic.
- Proven project management skills.
- Practising certificate (or equivalent) entitling you to practise as a lawyer in the UK, and a right to reside and work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
