Senior Associate — Environmental & Land Use, Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. office of a leading US law firm seeks a Senior Associate to join its Environmental & Land Use team. The role focuses on environmental regulatory matters, with emphasis on investigation, compliance and enforcement under federal programs.

Typical matters include CERCLA and RCRA work and related litigation and counseling involving hazardous, solid, medical, pharmaceutical and controlled-substance waste. The team works on a mix of regulatory responses, permitting, enforcement defense and transactional environmental due diligence.

• 5–7 years' post-qualification experience in environmental law
• Substantive experience with CERCLA and RCRA matters
• Experience handling hazardous/solid/medical/pharmaceutical/controlled-substance waste issues preferred
• Excellent writing, academic credentials and strong interpersonal skills
