Health Law Senior Associate (M&A)

A nationally recognized health law practice is seeking a Senior Associate with 6+ years of strategic M&A experience to join its health care transactions team. The role is based in Boston, New York, or Washington, DC.

The team advises health care providers (non-profit, publicly traded, and private equity backed), payors, pharmacy benefit managers and administrators, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers on complex transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and strategic affiliations.

The Senior Associate will lead all aspects of sophisticated health care transactions — structuring deals, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, overseeing due diligence, coordinating regulatory and specialist workstreams, and managing execution from inception through closing. This individual will serve as a primary day-to-day client contact and regularly interact with executives, in-house counsel, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and other advisors, while leading transaction teams and mentoring junior attorneys and specialists.

The firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with published guidelines.

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to or eligible for admission to the MA, NY, or DC Bar
• 6+ years of strategic M&A experience, preferably in the health care industry
• Experience taking a significant leadership role on large transactions and independently handling smaller transactions
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions and provide practical, strategic advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Preferred: familiarity with federal and state laws regulating health care providers, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, state corporate practice of medicine restrictions, and CON and licensure requirements
