A growing charities and not‑for‑profit team is seeking a Senior Associate / Legal Director to join its Bristol office. The team advises charities and other not‑for‑profits across health & social care, education and wider sector clients, combining commercial pragmatism with sector‑specific regulatory know‑how.

The role involves managing your own caseload and supporting senior lawyers on larger matters. Work will span charity law and governance issues, regulatory reporting, restructurings and transactional matters such as mergers, disposals and relationships with trading subsidiaries.

You will also contribute to business development and tender activity and supervise and mentor junior team members, acting as a visible, client‑facing adviser to a diverse charity client base.

  • Proven charity / not‑for‑profit experience, ideally advising charities across health, social care or education sectors.
  • Strong technical charity law and governance skills, including charity structure, constitutional reviews and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience advising on transactional matters for charities (mergers, disposals, use of trading subsidiaries) and commercial issues affecting charities.
  • Excellent client‑handling and communication skills; comfortable leading matters and supporting senior lawyers.
  • Track record of contributing to business development and tender preparation.
  • Team oriented with experience or willingness to supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Flexible on working location within the UK.
