An opportunity has arisen at a leading global law firm for a senior conflicts adviser or lawyer to join its General Counsel and Risk function in London. The role centres on resolving complex legal and commercial conflicts of interest issues, advising partners and staff on conflict queries, and ensuring the firm meets its sanctions and regulatory obligations.

Working within a collaborative global conflicts team, you will analyse new clients and transactions, draft and review conflict provisions in engagement letters and other client agreements, and manage the implementation of information barriers. You will also help oversee a global conflicts workflow and act as a first point of escalation for the team, handling more sophisticated clearances across M&A and litigation matters in liaison with partners.

The position carries meaningful supervisory and training responsibilities, including onboarding new team members and delivering training to internal stakeholders such as partners and PAs. There is also scope to contribute to strategic projects, the administration of trade securities dealing requests, and the design, development and testing of conflicts and new-business-intake software.

Degree-level education, preferably in law, or qualification in risk and compliance or another related analytical field
At least two years' experience in a professional services environment within this field
Excellent research and analytical skills with strong commercial awareness
Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, work autonomously and meet deadlines under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior partners and legal support staff
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Collaborative, service-oriented and flexible approach
