We are a global law firm with more than 5,000 people across over 30 countries, offering full-service legal support with deep niche and sector experience. We are purposeful and values-driven, seeing the world as a place where everyone can thrive. We are ambitious for our clients, our communities, and for you.

As part of the Contracts & Commercial Team within the General Counsel's Office, this role supports the Head of Contracts & Commercial in delivering the firm's commercial contracting, procurement, third-party risk, and contractual governance agenda across the international network. The role ensures commercial activity is supported in a controlled, proportionate, and legally defensible manner, aligned with the firm's commercial objectives and risk appetite.

Reporting to the Head of Contracts & Commercial, you will support day-to-day delivery, coordinate lawyers and paralegals, contribute to prioritisation and consistent execution, and provide high-quality, practical, commercially focused advice. You will respond to or delegate enquiries, act as the first escalation point, and make proportionate risk-based decisions within delegated authority. You will identify and implement improvements for team effectiveness and efficiency.

You will develop subject matter expertise, become a trusted adviser on commercial contracting and procurement matters, and collaborate with stakeholders across all offices to support consistent standards while respecting local legal, regulatory, and commercial requirements.

You will also play a key role in delivering the transformation of the firm's commercial contracting and governance function, working closely with the Head of Contracts & Commercial, Deputy General Counsel, and wider GC Office to develop new approaches, including technology, automation, contract intelligence, and agentic AI.

This role uniquely combines high-quality commercial contracting work with innovative transformation at the intersection of law, technology, and business change.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years' experience, including substantial commercial contracts, procurement, and complex commercial arrangements.
  • Experience delivering commercial contracting within a complex professional services, regulated, or international environment.
  • Excellent judgement with a proportionate, pragmatic, and risk-based approach.
  • Experience advising on strategic commercial matters and escalating complex issues.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating small teams, junior lawyers, or workstreams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise, and delegate across an international environment.
  • Genuine interest in technology, innovation, automation, and agentic AI.
  • Experience designing or improving processes, frameworks, governance models, or operating procedures.
  • Comfortable working with technology, operational, project, and business teams.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Curious, adaptable, and enthusiastic about delivering change and transformation.
